Chaldée by Jean Patou c2014

Chaldée by Jean Patou: launched in 2014 and created by Thomas Fontaine as part of the Heritage Collection. This is the reformulated fragrance Amour Amour originally launched by Jean Patou in 1927.

From Jean Patou:

CHALDÉE When first introduced in 1927 CHALDÉE was a sensation. Skirts have been shortened and women’s calves are revealed……Female emancipation begins as restricting corsets and bras are cast aside and daring bathing suits make their controversial appearance at the beach. CHALDÉE starts out as the first ever sun tan oil as summer vacations become all the rage amongst the stylish elite. It was the scent of Huile de Chaldée that was so popular. An oriental, floral, spicy powdery fragrance made up of Amber and flowers, spice and Opopanax. This daring combination was intensified by the heat of the sun and CHALDÉE was born. Today’s CHALDÉE is a fragrance which evokes the opulence of La Belle Epoque and a time of freedom and change.

Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as floral oriental fragrance for women.
  • Top notes: spices
  • Middle notes: flowers
  • Base notes: opoponax and ambergis
